Eight of the best brains in the business to bring you the latest information on the important topics in sheep management as well as guidance on bringing about change within your enterprise. There will also be seven additional opportunities to ask the speakers your questions. Resources, factsheets and homework will be provided after each session.
We've pulled together a fantastic group of experts for our Growing Ewe masterclass. Below is an overview of all of our sessions we will have throughout the 13 weeks. We will be meeting online via the video link on The Hub so feel free to ask questions or simply relax and learn from the comfort of your favourite chair.
Ferg introduces you to the Masterclass and the mindset required to make the most of it. He also covers the differences you can expect between course participants and why it is important to aim to improve your own enterprise year-on-year without worrying too much about what others are achieving.

The first drop of animals that Ferg bred was in 1990 when he was 13 years old. Roll forward three decades and he is more involved than ever with breeding programs all across Australia and New Zealand. This session will be focussed on breeding or buying the right rams for your business and making sure those rams are fit for the job.

Katherine is passionate about empowering people to be the best versions of themselves. Prepare to be challenged about the way you approach each day. How is your decision making influenced by external factors, are you always acting in a way that is likely to achieve the best outcome? This session is about the mindset required for change.
Andrew or Ox as he is better known is one of Australia's leading systems thinkers, he has a great understanding of prioritising on-farm investments. Ox will take you through the elements of a successful sheep farm, the infrastructure required to optimise a production system, how to make sure that you are setting up your system to maximise the chance of success.

Cat works with many successful producers helping them to make the right tactical decisions. He will run you through the key skills necessary to run an efficient and agile sheep business. Energy budgeting, assessing pasture, understanding feed tests, weighing sheep, condition scoring.
Thommo has lead or been very involved in all of the important research in sheep reproduction in the last two decades in Australia. He is a living encylopedia of knowledge. In this session he will lead us through all that he as learnt around the science of getting ewes to scan well.

Ginny is a practicing vet in the North Island of New Zealand as well as running several farmer workshops and groups. Ginny will be onboard to answer all of the questions you have about managing the health of your ewes, from feet to vaccinations and beyond
What's on the menu and who should be receiving the best feed? Cat will be back with you to move on from where he left off working through the practical requirements of managing ewe nutrition. He will also talk about the practical approaches that lead to higher lamb survival.

Rob Woodgate is a veterinarian with more than 25 years of experience in livestock health, production and research. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field and laboratory parasitology of livestock. He will lead you through the important aspects of internal parasite management.
Thommo is back this week to talk you through the science of lamb survival and the important things to get right to make every lamb count.

Jana has coached dozens of companies around the world to use Lean management to help them improve their businesses. Since introducing Lean thinking to her husband’s 1000-head dairy farm in 2013 she is helping more farms and businesses in the primary industry to reach their potential by continuously improving what they do and adapting to the changing external environments.
How do you keep the right ewes and which ewes should you cull. This is the bread and butter at neXtgen Agri, Ferg will lead you through the things to watch when making these important decisions. He will also talk through the opportunity to use EID to help improve this decision making process.

In the final session of the Masterclass, Ferg will summarise the sessions and encourage you to put a plan in place for change.
